To lay (ἐπιτίθημι epitithēmi)

They will pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they will lay their hands on the sick, who will recover. (Mk 16:18)

[καὶ ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν] ὄφεις ἀροῦσιν κἂν θανάσιμόν τι πίωσιν οὐ μὴ αὐτοὺς βλάψῃ, ἐπὶ ἀρρώστους χεῖρας ἐπιθήσουσιν καὶ καλῶς ἕξουσιν.

serpentes tollent: et si mortiferum quid biberint, non eis nocebit: super ægros manus imponent, et bene habebunt.
