To gaze (ἐμβλέπω emblepō)

But Jesus, gazing at them, said to them: With men, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible. (Mt 19:26)

It is worth stopping at the gaze of Jesus, which is very penetrating at this moment. On the one hand, the Lord Jesus sees the human condition and possibilities, and on the other, He gazes what salvation is. Moreover, Jesus’ eyes are full of love as He sees the struggles, the uncertainties, the perplexities of His disciples. He does not look haughtily, with pity, but with kindness, peace and hope. Let’s learn this Jesus optics, so that our eyes will be penetrating and full of goodness too.
