To die (ἀποθνήσκω apothnēskō)

Amen, amen, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it yields much fruit. (J 12:24)

ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἐὰν μὴ ὁ κόκκος τοῦ σίτου πεσὼν εἰς τὴν γῆν ἀποθάνῃ, αὐτὸς μόνος μένει· ἐὰν δὲ ἀποθάνῃ, πολὺν καρπὸν φέρει.

Amen, amen dico vobis, nisi granum frumenti cadens in terram, mortuum fuerit; ipsum solum manet. si autem mortuum fuerit, multum fructum affert.
