To take pity (σπλαγχνίζομαι splagchnizomai)

And Jesus, going out, saw a great multitude. And He took pity on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and He began to teach them many things. (Mk 6:34)

καὶ ἐξελθὼν εἶδεν πολὺν ὄχλον, καὶ ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπʼ αὐτοὺς ὅτι ἦσαν ὡς πρόβατα μὴ ἔχοντα ποιμένα, καὶ ἤρξατο διδάσκειν αὐτοὺς πολλά.

Et exiens vidit turbam multam Iesus: et misertus est super eos, quia erant sicut oves non habentes pastorem, et cœpit docere multa.
