Jesus said to them: “Because of your unbelief. Amen I say to you, certainly, if you will have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there,’ and it shall move. And nothing will be impossible for you. (Mt 17:20)
Dixit illis Iesus: Propter incredulitatem vestram. Amen quippe dico vobis, si habueritis fidem, sicut granum sinapis, dicetis monti huic, Transi hinc illuc, et transibit, et nihil impossibile erit vobis.
Faith is the beautiful and bright side of life. After all, we believe that the sun also shines at night, although we do not see it in our night sky. Yesterday, in a nursing home, I met Maria. She said that there is a beautiful view of the sunrise from the window of her home in Rome. Even though she no longer lives there and doesn’t see the daily sunrise, she steadfastly believes in it, and in her eyes you could almost see the lightening sky and the golden rays of the returning sun.
Faith is our daily life equipment. It’s a pity that we don’t always use it. Therefore, following the disciples, let us also ask: “Lord, increase our faith!”.
Let not the mountain of unbelief overwhelm us.
