Then His Mother and brothers came to Him; but they were not able to go to Him because of the crowd. (Lc 8:19)
It is worth paying attention to such words that appear only once in the Bible. Such word is in the pericope about the meeting with the Mother and brothers of Jesus. The prefix συν- denotes the act of joining. The strength of bonds between people is first built on kinship, but the Lord Jesus points to new, stronger relationships based on the power of the Word of God. It creates a new family out of us and establishes a new brotherhood and sonship. In the Son of God, we are sons and daughters and, consequently, brothers and sisters. The first condition is to accept and live every word that comes from the Mouth of God – from the Holy Spirit. Then we can meet together with Jesus and at Jesus.
