You hypocrites! You discern the face of the heavens, and of the earth, yet how is it that you do not discern this time? (Lk 12:56)
ὑποκριταί, τὸ πρόσωπον τῆς γῆς καὶ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ οἴδατε δοκιμάζειν, τὸν καιρὸν δὲ τοῦτον πῶς οὐκ οἴδατε δοκιμάζειν;
Hypocritæ faciem cæli, et terræ nostis probare: hoc autem tempus quomodo non probatis?
Discernment is a valuable skill, not only in the appearance of sky and earth. First, it is a manifestation of the spirit of wisdom in relation to the current state in which I find myself. What is right, i.e. what, who should I obey, who should I listen to? Is it the spirit of harmony or the spirit of division? Wisdom of discernment is essential in every area of human life. When it is gone, I lose freedom, time, relationships, and money.
