And you will be blessed because they do not have a way to repay you. So then, your recompense will be in the resurrection of the just. (Lk 14:14)
Today we hear another Gospel reason for happiness. Happiness is when our brothers and sisters feel gifted through kindness, generosity, and simple goodness of heart. When they are happy, our happiness comes to the edge of our heart. Moreover, this happiness will be given to us when we are invited to the wedding feast, to the supper, where the Bridegroom Christ himself will serve us. He as the first invites us, the poor, the lame, the disabled, and the blind. The gifts and calls of God are irrevocable. Our Lord never gives up on inviting us. He Himself said that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
