And when He drew near, seeing the city, He wept over it. (Lk 19:41)
Καὶ ὡς ἤγγισεν, ἰδὼν τὴν πόλιν ἔκλαυσεν ἐπ’ αὐτήν.
et ut adpropinquavit videns civitatem flevit super illam dicens.
Christ wept. He didn’t shed a tear, somewhere secretly (δακρύω). He cried loudly (κλαίω). If I do not recognize what serves peace and do not see the Saviour, it is no wonder that I am besieged by what enslaves me.
