Is it, then, to be understood that truly God would dwell upon the earth? For if heaven, and the heavens of heavens, are not able to contain You, how much less this house, which I have built? (1Kgs 8:27)
God dwells among His people. He wants the house built by human hands to be a place of His presence. He who is great and powerful, who created the whole world, allows that His Name, and therefore His Presence, to dwell in the house (temple) built by Solomon to hear the prayers of His people and to show forgiveness (1Kgs 8:30).
Solomon’s words can certainly be applied to the admiration of God’s presence in the Eucharist. How amazing is the truth that God dwells in a piece of bread that we can adore and even eat. This closeness to God is astonishing…
