Root (שֶׁרֶשׁ szoresz)

And he will be like a tree planted beside waters, which sends out its roots to moist soil. And it will not fear when the heat arrives. And its leaves will be green. And in the time of drought, it will not be anxious, nor will it cease at any time to bear fruit. (Jer 17:8)

A withered tree in a salty מְלֵחָה [melechah], deserted יָשַׁב [yashab], and burnt חָרֵר [charer]; חָרַר [charar] land looks like avant-garde art that is meant to delight, even if it does not delight the majority of people. A root שֶׁרֶשׁ [shoresh] is needed in a fertile place for fruit to appear. Breaking away from the Divine tradition makes man sterile and takes away the meaning of his existence. Being immersed in Christ, we are always full of life!
