I will be like the dew; Israel will spring forth like the lily, and his root will spread out like that of the cedars of Lebanon. (Hos 14:6)
Dew brings to mind the morning when it settles on the ground and plants after the night. It is a promise of new life through the moisture that “living souls” need. It is also a memory of manna that fell from heaven and was food for wandering Israel. Its refreshing effect suggests that we will not lack blessings that will allow us to flourish in goodness and take root in the Gospel.
These are the promises from the last verses of the book of the prophet Hosea. It is like a testament that encourages us to persevere in hope.
