There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every thing under the heavens. (Eccl 3:1)
Omnia tempus habent, et suis spatiis transeunt universa sub cælo.
Qohelet was a careful observer of life, and maybe he took full advantage of it. He knew the taste of abundance and the pain of lack. He experienced everything because he valued time as a gift. The passing moments, days, and years, belong to the past, but they are also the wealth of memory that transforms into wisdom. Reading Qohelet’s reflections, one discovers that it is not about an abstract understanding of time, but that it is always the time of “something”. Today, time is for me to relate everything that happens to me to the One who is Eternal.
