Behold, I will send My Angel, who will go before you, and preserve you on your journey, and lead you into the place that I have prepared. (Ex 23:20)
הִנֵּה אָנֹכִי שֹׁלֵחַ מַלְאָךְ לְפָנֶיךָ לִשְׁמָרְךָ בַּדָּרֶךְ וְלַהֲבִיאֲךָ אֶל־הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר הֲכִנֹתִי׃
ecce ego mittam angelum meum qui praecedat te et custodiat in via et introducat ad locum quem paravi.
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω τὸν ἄγγελόν μου πρὸ προσώπου σου ἵνα φυλάξῃ σε ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ ὅπως εἰσαγάγῃ σε εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ἡτοίμασά σοι.
Angel is not a name, but a function. The main goal of my path is heaven. A goal so important that God sends invisible and immaterial guardians for my defense.
