Path (אֹרַח ’ôraḥ)

And many peoples will go, and they will say: Let us approach and ascend to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob. And He will teach us His ways, and we will walk in His paths. For the law will go forth from Zion, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem. (Is 2:3)

Paths are usually trodden by ourselves when we look for shortcuts or constantly go to the same places. However, there are some set for us by Divine wisdom. These are reliable and do not lead astray. We need them so as not to waste time, and not to lose the meaning and direction of life. They lead us upward, that is, toward the contemplation of God’s light.
